Earn while you learn:With all the recent national and local attention given "school-to-work", "youth apprenticeship", Tech-Prep", etc., the New Orleans Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee offers college bound and non-college bound students a unique opportunity to earn while they learn meaningful skills be participating in our Electrical Apprenticeship & Training Program. Effective Strategy for Training:Increasing national attention is being paid to workforce preparation. This stems from the growing realization that America's ability to occupy a leading competitive edge in the emerging global economy hinges on assuring that the nation's workforce is second to none. Unfortunately this is not always the case. Employers frequently report that significant numbers of young people and adults alike exhibit serious educational deficiencies and are ill prepared to perform effectively in the workplace. As a consequence, leaders from industry, labor, education and government are all grappling with how to make educational reforms and design educational training strategies that will improve the skills of America's current and future workforce. Worker training is one of the leading issues facing this country today. With he increased burden on the private sector to provide training for their workers and the rapidly changing technological advances forcing business to react quickly in order to stay competitive, training will become even more important in the coming decade and beyond. Apprenticeship Programs are a highly effective strategy for training and preparing individuals for today's and tomorrow's workplace.
