Our Training Strategy
Program Sponsors:The New Orleans Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee is a local training program jointly sponsored and fully funded by the South Louisiana Chapter, Inc., National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union #130. Our training strategy combines supervised, structured on-job-training along with related theoretical instruction. Because we are sponsored by a joint labor/management group, we have the ability to hire and train in a real-world environment. Training Content:
The New Orleans Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee
prepares individuals for skilled employment opportunities by conduction
training in bona fide and documented employment settings. The content
of training, both on-the-job and related classroom train9ing, is determined
by the specific needs of our industry. The terms of electrical
apprenticeship is five (5) years with a minimum of 8000 hours in
on-job-training and a minimum of 1000 hours of related classroom training. College Credit:
Each summer our instructors are required to attend our National Instructor's
Institute hale at the University of Tennessee, to advance their teaching ability
and upgrade their skills. This insures that our apprentices continually
revive only the highest level of related classroom instruction.
